Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This place feels like a slice of Taiwan—authentic all the way from its origin. The flavors are rich, bold, and true to what you’d find in the streets of Taipei, from the savory beef noodle soup to the comforting xiao long bao and night-market style snacks. Every bite brings that genuine Taiwanese taste, making it a must-visit for anyone craving the real deal."
"Service was okay. Server was okay too, but could've smile a bit for the customers to feel welcome. Food was okay. I thought danzi noodle was for solo but it's too small. Fried shrimp rice was good and the color green xiao long bao. Salt and pepper pork was good."
"We ate here on their soft opening, and we loved most of our orders. The ones I'd recommend the most are the fried calamari and fried oysters. They come with a salt and pepper sprinkle that's so simple but SUPER amazing! It really elevates the flavors. The beef noodle soup is also good. But I prefer Fat Fook's soup base because it's richer in flavor. Their signature noodle soup with a shrimp tastes good but disappointingly SO SMALL for its price. We were informed it's on the smaller side, I just didn't think it would be an appetizer size at P200+. It's pictured beside a regular cup of Kenangan coffee. I wish they'd improve their xiao long bao. The taste is just okay, but the letdown is how thick the dumpling is. Worth a try? I think so. I wish they'd improve on the food, especially the staple Taiwanese dishes. Will I come back for seconds? Yes, to explore the menu and because this is the nearest Taiwanese place near me."
"The food here is really comforting and satisfying. I especially loved the siomai—it was flavorful and well-cooked. The beef was tender and easy to enjoy. The place itself is well-lit and cozy, making it a nice spot to relax and have a meal. Overall, a pleasant dining experience that I’d happily come back to."
"The interiors were really pretty—that’s what drew us in. The Crispy Oyster was interesting in a good way, though it had a noticeable floury texture. Hakaw was just okay; shrimp size was small and the filling felt a bit off. Sakura Shrimp Rice had a generous serving, good for 2–3 people. Chicken Chop was value for money and satisfying. Overall, a decent place for a casual meal."
"Xiao Long Bao (original) is comparable to DTF. Probably more than what’s it worth, definitely a must try! Another must try is their Chicken Chop. Pork Siomai is ok, there’s just other restos that offer a better tasting Siomai."
"Craving authentic Taiwanese flavors? If you find yourself in Ortigas Extension near SM East Ortigas, Du Hsiao Yueh should be on your radar. This spot offers an impressive variety of Taiwanese dishes, but here's the kicker—they've got a cross-ordering system that lets you order from the neighboring Rosso Pomodoro and enjoy both cuisines in one sitting. Talk about convenience! I couldn't resist trying their signature dishes: the danzai noodles and xiaolongbao. The moment these hit your palate, you'll understand the hype—the flavors are genuinely mouth-watering. However, here's the catch: portion sizes lean on the smaller side, which might leave big eaters or budget-conscious diners wanting more bang for their buck. That said, if you're looking for a solid alternative to Din Tai Fung without the usual wait times, Du Hsiao Yueh delivers a satisfying experience worth checking out."
"Great ambience and comfy place and chill with great taiwanese food. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken with basil. Xiao long bao is solid as well. Ordered the wonton soup and the sakura shrimp fried rice during the this visit as well."
